The Saint Louis Visionary Awards has announced the recipients of its 2018 honorees.
They are: Shakespeare Festival co-founder Lana Pepper (Major Contributor to the Arts); Dances of India founder Asha Premachandra (Outstanding Teaching Artist); Opera Theatre education director Allison Felter (Outstanding Arts Professional); Creative Reaction Lab’s Antionette Carroll (Community Impact Artist); conceptual artist Yvonne Osei (Emerging Artist); and poet, community artist and author Cheeraz Gormon (Outstanding Working Artist).
The Saint Louis Visionary Awards celebrates the numerous contributions and achievements of women who work in or support the arts in the community.
“There are so many women in the region who are doing such transformational work in the arts. The selection committee had to pick only six women out of 90 nominations. They worked overtime selecting this year’s Saint Louis Visionaries,” said Sara Burke, co-president of the Saint Louis Visionary Awards. “We couldn’t be more impressed with the 2018 honorees. They truly deserve this recognition.”
The 2018 Saint Louis Visionary Awards ceremony is scheduled for Monday, April 23, 2018, at the Sun Theater.
