Join Author and Attorney Areva Martin for an Evening Focused on Female Leadership

Award-winning author, civil rights attorney and CNN Legal Analyst Areva Martin recently released her fourth book, “Awakening: Ladies, Leadership, and the Lies We’ve Been Told,” also the topic of her talk and book signing this week at St. Louis Public Radio.

Martin, a St. Louis native who lives in the Los Angeles metro area, is in town for “An Evening with Areva Martin” from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday Nov. 4, at St. Louis Public Radio.

Known as “America’s Advocate,” the Harvard-trained attorney said the book goes beyond the idea that women should ask for a seat at the table and makes the case for women to tear down the building, build anew and choose tables that make room for everyone.

“‘Awakening’ expands on our potential to strike down and rebuild the systems erected to keep us down as I expose the lies that have prevented women from achieving their full potential,” Martin said. “I’ve spent 18 months investigating the data and hearing from women directly about their stories.”
