“An Evening with Leonard Slatkin” heralded the return of in-person events for the St. Louis County’s Library’s acclaimed Author Series.

Slatkin, the renowned, Grammy Award-winning conductor laureate of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, discussed his new book, “Classical Crossroads: The Path Forward for Music in the 21st Century,” and provided the audience with some personal reflection during a Q&A session with Classic 107.3’s John Clare.

The beloved conductor also performed Leroy Anderson’s “The Typewriter” (arr. C. Woehr), along with musicians from the Chamber Music Society of St. Louis.

Prior to the book discussion, Jim and Mary Forsyth hosted a VIP reception, where guests mingled and enjoyed light bites and drinks.

All proceeds from the event benefit the St. Louis County Library Foundation and the Chamber Music Society of St. Louis.
