Spring cleaning is the perfect time to pay attention to details that are typically swept under the rug.
Many of us have been spending more time at home as a result of coronavirus safety precautions, so you have more time to clean! To keep your stress level to a minimum, take some time to get rid of the clutter and dirt from the past year.
Here are a few simple tips and tricks to keep the germs away:
Create Your Own Disinfectant Liquid
Panic buying has been at an all-time high, meaning products like toilet paper and disinfectant spray are running low. Luckily, there is a way to make disinfectant spray with products that many of us have in our pantry. Combine 2 cups warm water, 1/2 cup white vinegar, 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol and 3 drops dish soap to keep your surfaces corona-free.
Clean Your Car

Cars can quickly go from brand new, to being filled with a mixture of McDonald’s french fries, gum wrappers and piles of mail, in just a few months. Vacuum the nooks and crannies between the seats. Clean your headlights using toothpaste to get rid of the foggy look that usually comes with wear. Wash the outside of your car with hair conditioner. It may sound absurd, but many hair conditioners contains the waxy substance, lanolin that will make the exterior of your car sparkle.

After a long summer full of family get-togethers and parties, our barbecue grills can get neglected. If you have a gas grill, turn it to the highest setting to burn off the stubborn gristle and grout. Soak the grates in a bucket of warm soapy water while you scrub the debris with a wire brush.
Organize Your Refrigerator

Refrigerators can quickly become hot-beds for germs. Start by throwing out leftovers and anything that is past the expiration date. Wipe down all areas of your fridge with disinfectant liquid, remove shelves to deep clean corners that are usually overlooked. Group same types of food together to make them easier to find.

This is the perfect time to throw out old clothes that are either out of season or no longer fit. Purchase an affordable shoe rack from places like Target or Amazon to keep shoes tidy. Arrange your clothes by either type or color to make them easier to find when you are in a hurry.

A clean workspace is the key to a stress-free work environment. Place items that are used together in the same drawer. Use small organizers for pens, sticky notes paper clips, etc. Create folders for papers that serve different purposes. Wipe underneath every item on your desk with disinfectant liquid.
