Where to Dine on Valentine’s Day in St. Louis

Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and everyone is trying to narrow down the best ways to impress their love.

They say that food is the key to one’s heart and many of St. Louis’ favorite restaurants are offering up some lovable specials for the big night. Here are a few choices to check out to make your celebration special:

Colleen’s Cookies

Cookies & Cream French Macaron
Colleen’s is serving up a four-course dinner fit for royalty. The menu includes crab cakes, a salad with goat cheese croquettes and filet mignon or pan-seared sea bass. The dessert is a raspberry mousse served in a semi-sweet chocolate cup, topped with whipped cream and a French macaron. The cost is $130 per person. Wine pairings are available for an additional charge. This special will take place from 7 to 10 p.m., Friday, Feb. 14.

Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Clayton and Downtown

Filet Mignon 
Ruth’s Chris is offering a delightful Sweetheart Special for Two to indulge with your lover on Valentine’s Day. The meal includes steak house salad, a 6-ounce filet and 6-ounce cold-water lobster tail, served with signature garlic butter, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. Top that off with raspberry chocolate cheesecake for two. The cost is $130 for two, and is available Feb. 7 to 16.

Juniper

Raw Oysters
Juniper is a southern table and bar that is offering five delicious courses on Feb. 14. The dinner includes raw or fried oysters, crab soup or cabbage shiitake salad, Cheerwine sorbet, a New York strip, crab rice, mushroom pot pie, and for dessert, a decadent brownie sundae with raspberry buttermilk ice cream, hot fudge and candied cocoa nibs.

Cobalt Smoke & Sea

Black Tie Scallops
Cobalt Smoke & Sea is offering five delicious courses on Feb. 14 and 15. The romantic menu consists of scallops with saffron cream and potato gaufrette, brandy butter poached lobster with tomato risotto, beef tenderloin with potato galette and decadent red velvet cake with caramel sauce, amaretto, toasted coconut and dry ice. It also has a selection of four “love potions,” one being the 24 Karat Manhattan, mixed with rye, house vermouth blend, house bitters, gold Luxardo cherry and smoke bubble.
