The two-person show currently running at The Gaslight Theater highlights the old saying, “can’t live with him; can’t live without him.”

Presented by St. Louis Actors’ Studio and directed by associate artistic director Annamaria Pileggi, “Annapurna” stars John Pierson and Laurie McConnell.

The one-act play by Sharr White unites Emma with ex-husband and poet Ulysses, whom she tracks down in a trailer park in the middle of nowhere, after leaving him 20 years before. What unfolds is a visceral and profound meditation on love and loss with the simplest of theatrical elements: two people in one room trying to figure out their complicated relationship. It’s a breathtaking story about the longevity of love.

“Annapurna” is on stage at 8 p.m., Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and at 3 p.m., Sundays, through March 1, at The Gaslight Theater at 358 N. Boyle Ave., St. Louis, MO 63108. Tickets are $30 to $35, and are available at ticketmaster.com, Ticketmaster ticket centers, by phone at (800) 982-2787, or at the box office one hour before showtime.
