The more than one million lights that mark the start of the holiday season at the Missouri Botanical Garden will be unveiled this week.

The eighth annual Garden Glow begins Wednesday, Nov. 11, and will run through Saturday, Jan. 2. While the experience will feel a little differently due to the pandemic, the garden’s signature holiday display will still allow visitors to take a winter walk through the property amid dazzling lights, with additional protocols to help keep everyone safe.

Health and safety guidelines that will be in place during Garden Glow include:

  • Required masks for everyone age 9 and older
  • Modified interactive and high-touch displays to reduce contact
  • One-way paths and separate entrance and exit points
  • Additional hand sanitizing stations
  • Appropriate social-distancing measures for visitors

Garden Glow highlights include photo opportunities, food and drinks, music, traditional holiday favorites and some new experiences.

Advanced tickets are required, with capacity greatly reduced to allow for ample social distancing. Ticket prices vary by date, and range from $3 to $20. Family Nights, which include $3 children’s tickets, are Wednesday nights through Dec. 9.
