A new exhibition, “Introducing Lee Alexander McQueen,” debuts on Thursday, July 23, at Barrett Barrera Projects gallery at 4739 McPherson Ave. in the Central West End. The exhibit features recently acquired garments and ephemera by the late British designer.

McQueen, who died by suicide in November 2010 at age 40, founded his namesake fashion house in 1992. He also served as chief designer for Givenchy and has earned numerous accolades, including being named “British Designer of the Year” four times. He is known for creating couture designs for high-profile celebrities, including David Bowie, Nicole Kidman, Rihanna and Lady Gaga, among others.

COVID-19 social distancing guidelines will be in place at both venues, with spaces at limited visitor capacity. All visitors must wear a face mask and remain 6 feet away from staff and other guests. Hand sanitizer and no-touch doors are available throughout the spaces, and visitors are encouraged to use them. In-person tours, events, and other programs are suspended for the time-being.

Special, limited access will be available for at-risk visitors from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursdays.
