Coach Launches CitySole Footwear Collection

Sneakers are the perfect shoe for individuals who have an on-the-go lifestyle, but still want to look trendy.

On Feb. 3, Coach announced the launch of Coach CitySole, an innovative new footwear collection that combines the brand’s style with leading comfort technology.

Coach CitySole is designed to empower individuals to take charge of their own life. Made for those with a modern, active lifestyle and a practical approach to style, the shoes debut in Coach’s Spring 2020 collection.

Brand ambassadors Jennifer Lopez and Michael B. Jordan are sporting the shoes in the campaign.

Three sneaker styles are offered, mixing the codes of American sportswear and Coach’s flexible technology. The CitySole Court gets inspiration from classic basketball sneakers with a triangle toe box and pivot point on the outsole.  The CitySole Runner has the sleek silhouette of running shoes, with a robust heel and grooved details on the sole for added traction. The CitySole Lowline is Coach’s take on the classic low-top sneaker, a casual style that can be worn on any occasion.

“I have always been inspired by the people and unique energy of our hometown, New York,” said Coach creative director Stuart Vevers. “Like everything we design, CitySole was created with this in mind. It’s a collection for people who live always-on, spontaneous and adventurous lives.”

Photographer Juergen Teller brought the campaign to life. She began working with Coach in the fall of 2019, and has continued capturing eye-catching photos ever since.

“When you grow up in New York, sneakers are such a big part of your lifestyle because you have to pound the pavement,” Lopez said. “Coach CitySole is perfect for my lifestyle. I’m a dancer, and I’m always on the go, and they’re very versatile. They can be dressed up and dressed down, and can be functional, but also super fashionable.”
