Designer, Heiress Gloria Vanderbilt Dies at 95

Heiress and fashion icon Gloria Vanderbilt has died at age 95 at her home in Manhattan, after being diagnosed with stomach cancer earlier this month.

She was a member of the prominent Vanderbilt family of New York, and the mother of CNN television anchor Anderson Cooper. Vanderbilt led a sensational life, building a business empire that included clothes, perfumes and household goods bearing her name. She is known as one of the original creators of designer blue jeans. Here are a few of our favorite photos of her over the decades.
