Fair Saint Louis may be scaled down this year, but the popular Fireworks Spectacular at the Gateway Arch will continue to be front and center this Independence Day.

The fair is hosting a single-day fireworks display on Tuesday, July 4. Set to begin around 9:40 p.m. against the backdrop of the Arch, the show is expected to last approximately 30 minutes.

Organizers say the best place to view the fireworks – which will shoot off from barges on the Mississippi River – is on the Arch Grounds, with St. Louisans encouraged to arrive early to secure parking and a good spot.

Attendees are welcome to bring camp/beach chairs, picnic blankets, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks (no glass bottles) to enjoy before and during the fireworks display. Port-a-potty restrooms will be available for public use.

The Fireworks Spectacular on Independence Day will be the sole event for Fair Saint Louis in 2023. Organizers say following the success of a multitude of events last year, the Fair Saint Louis committee recognized unique opportunities to build the community and grow the brand going forward.
