Factory Fashion Show is returning Saturday, Oct. 5, for its fifth biannual fashion show and night market.
The event focuses on supporting local designers and artists, offering the opportunity for connections between different types of creators. Every year, it brings that diverse, youthful feel that St. Louis needs.
Items from your favorite local artists, designers and makers will be available for purchase. After the fashion show, the night market will be held on the 1400-1500 blocks of Washington Avenue, across from The Last Hotel STL.
Acclaimed and emerging designers will be featured in the show, including Nasheli Juliana by Nasheli Ortiz, Ying Ying Ying, Q Liu, Nyla Coleman and Jordan Khusnulgatin, and from Lindenwood University: Madelyn Mickles, Rachel Jagust and Natalia Soares da Silva, and Jillian Turner, Samantha Knaust, Rose Carter, Madeline Buasri, and Catherine Hake of Stephens College.
Ortiz was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico. Her accomplishments include teaching at Lindenwood University, earning several degrees in fashion design: a master’s of fine arts from Savannah College of Art and Design, a bachelor’s of fine arts from Escuela de Artes Plásticas y Diseño Puerto Rico, as well as an associate’s degree from Altos de Chavón, affiliated with Parsons The New School of Design. Today, she works as the chair and associate professor in the fashion design department at Moore College of Art & Design.
Doors open at 7 p.m., and the fashion show starts at 8 p.m. There is a rooftop after-party for VIPs and second-row ticket holders held at 9 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase at factoryfashionshow.com.
The event is sponsored by The Last Hotel, Urban Chestnut Brewing Company and Common Anthem.
