Flavorable Spring Blooms

Spring flowers are about to bloom. Just not in your backyard, but at the Saint Louis Art Museum’s annual Art in Bloom, March 3-31.

This year produced a virtual event with on- demand programing. What’s been dubbed the perennial event to usher in spring, Art in Bloom pairs art and flowers, featuring arrangements by talented floral designers inspired by a specific art object.

Art in Bloom’s spring flowers have also inspired the flavor mavens at Clementine’s Naughty and Nice Creamery to create a spring collection of fresh botanical ice cream flavors, which include Orange Blossom Thyme, White Chocolate Geranium and Honey Lavender. Also springing forth at the creamery are Clementine’s floral chocolate bombs.

Created in honor of SLAM’s Art in Bloom, Clementine’s new white chocolate bombs flavored with lavender and rose waters  Photo courtesy of Clementine’s.

Clementine’s owner, Creamery Diva and self-proclaimed flavor temptress, Tarmera Keefe, calls her floral-inspired chocolate bombs “bouquets of flavor.”

Shaped to reflect a rose and a lavender flower, the Lavender Bomb encases a shell of creamy white chocolate, a mix of imported white chocolate cocoa mix, lavender water and mini marshmallows. The other flower bomb to pick is the white chocolate Rose Bomb, laced with delicate rose water.

In honor of the art museum’s event, anyone who mentions Art in Bloom at any of Clementine’s locations, get a spring treat –  10% off any floral ice cream pints. The Saint Louis Art Museum members can also receive a special 10% discount off the floral chocolate bombs.

I recommend to pick your favorites before the blooms wilt or melt away. And don’t forget to tune in and enjoy Art in Bloom.
