The new café at the Missouri History Museum is opening its doors.

The Key Bistro, located on the museum’s upper level, will hold a ribbon-cutting and grand opening celebration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 23.

The fast-casual restaurant will offer guests a French-inspired menu from chef Kevin Green, former executive chef at Kreis’ Steakhouse & Bar, and restaurateur Pierre Chambrin II, formerly of Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar. Chambrin’s father, former White House chef and Saint Louis Club executive chef, Pierre Chambrin Sr., will consult on the menu.

The menu features appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches and entrées, and dessert. Starters include a Charcuterie Board and Baked Brie. Lobster Bisque and French Onion Soup au Gratin are among the soup offerings, while salads include Caesar, Harvest and a seasonal selection. Quiches, a Bistro Burger, California Chicken Sandwich and French Dip are some of the main-dish offerings. The café will also have an express menu for grab-and-go items.

The dining area offers a panoramic view of Forest Park. The restaurant also has a full bar with a rotating selection of beer on tap.

The café will be open for lunch, with plans to add brunch service and catering later this year. The Key Bistro will also be the preferred caterer for events held at the Missouri History Museum, including Thursday Nights at the Museum.

The Key Bistro will be open for full-service dining from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and express dining from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday. On Saturdays, the restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and on Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
