I was born in Malaysia, and St. Louis is now my home. I’ve been involved in the restaurant business since I was 27, and opened 609, then HIRO Sushi &Modern Japanese Izakaya, and now, HIRO Asian Kitchen and HIRO Poké Co., with Akar on Wydown in Clayton opening in May. Great friends, traveling, tasty food, creative designs and cultural integration really excite me!

STYLE I love color, and I’m not afraid to try something new or outside my comfort zone, as long as it fits proportionally, and it is proper attire for the event. Today in Skif, tomorrow in rag & bone, why not?

GROOMING MUST-HAVE SothysHydra linesBond No. 9.

FAVORITE ITEM IN CLOSET Tod’s loafers. They are ultra-comfortable, timeless, and there are so many colors to choose from!

PASSIONS Good people, travel, cooking, designs (fashion, interior, food) and wine.

MUSIC Bossa nova. Bebel Gilberto.

HEALTH I’m on my feet all day, and I do a quick 30- to 45-minute workout when time allows.

STYLE INSPIRATION Me, myself and moi. It all depends on the mood I’m in. Sometimes, I’m suited up just hanging out at home with my dog and a cup of tea.

FAVORITE ST. LOUIS HANGOUT There are too many! If there‘s good people, food and drink, you might see me there!
