King & I’s new location, the former Blaze Pizza storefront in Richmond Heights, is a 3,100-square-foot restaurant with seating for approximately 50 guests. The restaurant anticipates a September 2023 opening date and will be open for lunch and dinner.

The menu will include the same dishes served at the original King & I, including its fresh and deep-fried rolls, curries, noodles, and specialty dishes like Four Kings of Thailand and Tah Lay Spicy Soup.

Owners Suchin and Sue Prapaisilp opened the first King & I restaurant – the first in St. Louis to serve Thai cuisine – in 1983 at the corner of Grand Boulevard and Humphrey Street in South City. In 1993, the restaurant moved to the current South Grand location.

King & I is known for its authentic, home-style dishes and regional specialties from central, northern and southern Thailand. The Prapaisilp family also owns and operates Oishi Sushi, Oishi Steakhouse and Chao Baan restaurants, as well as United Provisions and Global Foods Market grocery stores.
