The Missouri Botanical Garden has transformed into an after-hours wonderland of lights, music and interactive media, plus food and drinks, for Garden Party Lights.

The family-friendly, evening-only light show, which kicked off this weekend, will be on display Thursday through Sunday nights until Oct. 19.

Doors open nightly at 6 p.m. for food, drinks and strolling. The light show begins at dark, when visitors can take a self-guided, mile-long journey of free-flowing paths of lighting, projection mapping and laser show installations.

The Biergarten, located on Linnean Plaza, will offer snacks, drinks, games, and live music. Thursday nights will feature weekly drink specials. Sunday nights in July and August will be family nights, featuring $3 for tickets for children ages 3 to 12. Admission to the Doris I. Schnuck Children’s Garden, which will be open until dark Sunday evenings in July and August, will be included.

Tickets are date-specific. Purchasing tickets in advance is highly recommended, as sell outs are expected throughout the summer. Note: Garden Party Lights will be closed from Aug. 28 to Sept. 1 for the Japanese Festival, and Oct. 3-6 for the Best of Missouri Market.
