New Balance x Staud Collab on Activewear Collection Released

Activewear fanatics are in for a treat with the luxury New Balance x Staud collaboration.

The California-inspired collection is the perfect combination of sass and athleticism, merging vintage color combinations with breathability. The collection dropped in mid-May, and it is monumental for both brands. It marks the first dive into activewear for Staud, normally known for its sophisticated, trendy pieces.

“Our initial muse for the collection was Princess Diana leaving the gym,” said Sarah Staudinger, the brand’s founder. “We loved this example of an independent, strong woman prioritizing fitness for herself. The images of her in bike shorts with a leather bag felt so relatable to us.”

The typical Staud girl who is usually seen in fringed crop tops and bright-colored wide-leg pants is adding athletic-gear to her closet. “This collection opened our eyes to the Staud girl outside the existing hours we have come to know her in, and we believe that she is looking for exciting active options, just as she is looking for an event dress or chic set.”

“Optimism was a key design attribute for the collection,” Staudinger said. “So color-blocking was the perfect way to express that, which is exactly how we approached the sneaker design. I think you need to feel optimistic and motivated to work out and fun colors do that. The more fun we have wearing it, the more inclined we will be to work out hard and be happy doing it.”

Prices for the collection range from $60 to $180 for clothing and bags, and $230 for sneakers. The collection is available at newbalance.com.
