Westport Plaza in Maryland Heights is the new home of Rawlings.
The legendary sporting goods company has announced it is relocating its world headquarters from Town & Country to Westport Plaza in late 2023. The need for additional office space and a desire to establish a full corporate campus, including an experiential retail destination, are among the reasons for the move.
Rawlings, a leading manufacturer of premium baseball and softball equipment, is the official baseball, glove, helmet, face guard and base of Major League Baseball and the creator of the iconic Rawlings Gold Glove Award.
The company has been based in St. Louis since its founding in 1887, and officials hope the move to Westport will elevate Rawlings‘ visibility as a local company even more.
“Our move to Westport Plaza reflects the tremendous growth of our baseball and softball business and allows us to create an immersive brand experience for fans and athletes alike,” said Rawlings CEO Mike Zlaket. “As a storied brand based in St. Louis, Rawlings has very strong ties to the local community, and it was important for us to remain here in such a renowned baseball town.”
Plans for the expanded retail space include a display of Rawlings’ full assortment of baseball and softball product lines with customizable options. In addition, the new space will showcase commemorative baseballs throughout the game’s history. Recent milestones such as Aaron Judge’s 62 homeruns in a single season and Albert Pujols’ 700 career homeruns will be among the highlights.
The “glove vault” will be another attraction, with the Rawlings Gold Glove Awards on display, as well as an interactive custom glove centers for visitors to design their own.
The move coincides with ongoing revitalization efforts at Westport Plaza in an effort to attract new business tenants to the mixed-used development.
