Just in time for St. Louis CITY SC’s inaugural home match later this week, a new soccer destination opens today just steps away from CITYPARK.

The Pitch Athletic Club and Tavern, at Market and 20th streets, is on the northwest corner of St. Louis Union Station and just across the street from the new stadium. It will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, and open for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday for fans who follow international soccer matches.

Upon entering, a large wall featuring the current CITY SC roster welcomes guests to the soccer-themed restaurant, which has large TVs throughout the space for viewing the game and other sporting events from around the globe. In addition to the bar and main dining area, there are several intimate seating spaces, each with a TV, and leather-bound couches and armchairs. European pub colors and designs accent the brick-lined interiors, with walls covered with memorabilia from St. Louis’ impressive soccer history.

Among the menu highlights are classics from New York’s famed Carnegie Deli, including the Reuben, Pastrami and Corned Beef sandwiches. Pub favorites such as Fish & Chips and Chicken Pot Pie share the menu with a Crumble Burger, Pot Roast Dip and an Italian Sub featuring St. Louis’ own Volpi salami. For starters, Loaded Smashed Potatoes, Lobster Rangoon, Pickle Fries, Toasted Ravioli and more are on the menu, as well as soups and salads. For dessert, there’s Carnegie Deli’s Cheesecake and Black & White Cookies. The beverage lineup includes an array of international, domestic and local beer on tap and in cans, as well as wine by the glass or bottle.

The Pitch will be open Monday through Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.; Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 1 a.m.; and Sunday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
