South County and West County Malls Announce Temporary Closures

Two St. Louis-area malls have closed their doors due to recent COVID-19 restrictions. CBL Properties, the owner of South County Center and West County Center, shut down operations at both locations at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 19.

In an announcement through the malls’ websites and on social media, the company says the properties will remain closed until further notice, and officials will provide additional information when it becomes available.

This comes following a March 13 announcement from CBL that all planned events, including the popular Easter Bunny photo program, have been cancelled or postponed.

Earlier this week, department stores Macy’s and Nordstrom both announced they were temporarily suspending operations at all brick-and-mortar locations across the country, including the Macy’s in South County and the Macy’s and Nordstrom stores at West County malls.

A few restaurants at both properties are remaining open for curbside pick-up or delivery only, including J. Gibert’s at West County, which is open for to-go orders.
