Baby Phat is back! It is a pleasant surprise that St. Louisan Kimora Lee Simmons is relaunching the brand in a hot collaboration with popular clothing store Forever 21. There is a fresh, new feel to it, but the essence of the original Baby Phat still shines through.

Kimora’s daughters Ming Lee and Aoki Lee

In the early 2000s, Baby Phat defined what it meant to be a sophisticated – but still sexy – woman. The brand introduced streetwear to mainstream culture and created a huge trend that was rocked by many young celebrities, including Beyoncé (yeah, I said it), Aaliyah, Amber Rose and many more.

When you wear the refreshed Baby Phat, you get this unexplained sense of nostalgia, with flashes of ’90s style. Sparkly rhinestones, sexy cat-eye sunglasses and cheetah print are highlighted in the debut collection.

The campaign also features Diddy’s twin daughters D’Lila Star and Jessie James

Two-piece sets are worth all of the hype. This baby pink set gives a very soft, pretty look. Pairing this hot set with a pair of platform sneakers, and a small backpack from the collection can add a sporty edge to the look. You know we had to incorporate some of that old school Baby Phat flair with a pair of silver hoops.

This line has sexy options for plus-size women, as well. Kimonos are great for the summer, as they are flowy, flattering and versatile. Shop the looks at forever21.com.
