Tom Ford Spring/Summer 2021 is relaxed elegance with lively prints, modern casual and formal wear reinvented.
St. Louis native Makala Johnson, represented by West Model & Talent Management, is prominently featured in the campaign. The 19 year old was discovered while in her mid-teens by agency owners Gail and Sutton Lasater. She graced the cover of Gazelle magazine before moving to New York, working around the world and walking for top designers at New York Fashion Week and fashion weeks in Europe.

In a series of Instagram videos, designer Tom Ford shared the challenges of creating a collection during the pandemic, with sample rooms closed, seamstresses working from home and daily COVID-19 tests for those on-site, working in a tent outside the brand’s headquarters in Los Angeles.
“In terms of what looks right now – I just finished designing Spring/Summer 2021, and the last thing I want to see are serious clothes.” Ford said. “I think we need an escape. I think we want to smile, and I know that what’s going on in our world right now doesn’t make us want to smile. But that’s why I think that the customer is going to walk in the store in the spring, and they’re going to respond to clothes that make them happy, clothes that make them feel secure, so that’s what I’ve done – clothes that make you smile.”
