The St. Louis Aquarium is celebrating the “Summer of the Shark” from now until Labor Day, with plenty of shark-centered adventures, including opportunities to get up close and personal with some of the aquarium’s resident sharks.
The aquarium at St. Louis Union Station is the first to host the American Museum of Natural History’s “Sharks,” an immersive, family-friendly touring exhibition featuring life-size models and interactive activities that examine the diversity of shark species, as well as the role they play in ocean ecosystems.
Special Summer of the Shark events are on tap every day, including daily feedings, Shark Canyon dive shows, story times, shark mascot meet-and-greets and scavenger hunts. Showcased throughout are the dozen or so varieties of shark species at the aquarium, such as white tip reef sharks, bonnethead sharks, tasseled wobbegongs, Australian marbled catsharks, blacktip reef sharks and more.
