Modeled after the L’Oustau de Baumanière château in Provence, France, the 7,280-square-foot home rests on 28 acres, with five buildings, including a stone guest house from the 1920s and 10,000 square feet of pavilions.

Somers and her TV-game-show husband, Alan Hamel, lived in the home from the 1970s until 2021. The couple did much of the home’s design, drawing form their world travels and their use of contrasts, such as crystal chandeliers against natural rock and reclaimed wood – rough against smooth, soft against hard.

Set against the mountainside above Mesa Canyon, the desert compound has two pools, a two-room kitchen and expansive pantry, a 24-seat dining room, a wine pantry, five fireplaces, nine baths and a master bedroom suite and six other bedrooms. The grounds feature walkways and terraces with romantic views, as well as an outdoor amphitheater carved onto the mountain with seating for 50 and a dance floor.

Somers burst onto the scene as the “blonde in the white Thunderbird” in 1973’s “American Graffiti.” Her first big role, as Chrissy Snow on “Three’s Company,” was followed by “Step by Step” in the 1990s. She also experienced success as a spokeswoman for ThighMaster and as a business entrepreneur. Somers is a breast cancer survivor. She and Hamel have been married since 1977.

The property’s listing agent is Scott Lyle from Compass. The home is featured on Top Ten Real Estate Deals.
