During these cold-weather months, St. Louis Union Station’s Train Shed restaurant will transform into “Sleigh Shed,” a seasonal pop-up cocktail experience offering holiday-themed libations.

Beginning Friday, Nov. 4, the restaurant inside Union Station will be decorated from top to bottom with the glittering, festive baubles and bling of the season. The Sleigh Shed pop-up will remain open through New Year’s Eve, Sundays through Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Themed cocktail offerings for the season include Rudolph’s Reserve (Zafra Masters Reserve 21-year rum, blood orange cordial, lime and Cocktail Punk Smoked Orange Bitters), which is quickly becoming a favorite for those in-the-know.

There’s also Sleigh All Day (Bruzco Mezcal, Cava de Oro Blanco Tequila, Suau Brandy, pineapple gum syrup, lime juice and Cocktail Punk Peach bitters), reminiscent of a more complex, sophisticated – and prettier – margarita; and Resting Grinch Face (light rum, toasted coconut syrup, Rio Red Grapefruit Cordial and lime juice), which reminds us of an all-decked-out mint julep.

Other options include “dessert” drinks such as Un-Fig-Gettable (vanilla vodka, Heering Cherry Liqueur, crème de cacao, half & half, caramelized fig syrup and nutmeg), the uber-indulgent Santa’s Red-Eye Fix (vodka, espresso, Giffard Vanilla Liqueur, simply syrup and heavy cream), and HoCoCoa (Ghirardelli Hot Cocoa, Dorda Double Chocolate Liqueur and peppermint bark cream liqueur).

In addition, the Train Shed has updated its lunch and dinner menu. New additions include the standout Broccolini Pizza, with grilled broccolini and pickled peppers, mozzarella and feta topped with a white-wine vinegar drizzle and bread crumbs; and a hearty Chopped Salad with turkey and sweet Italian vinaigrette. On the entrée side, you can’t go wrong with the Pork Chop, which is prepared with a maple brown sugar brine and served with cornbread pecan dressing and collard greens.

The restaurant is located at St. Louis Union Station alongside the lake where holiday fire and light shows set to music will also be on display. Other seasonal offerings at Union Station include a holiday market in the outdoor plaza and The Polar Express Train Ride, as well as rides on the 200-foot-tall St. Louis Wheel and visits to the St. Louis Aquarium.
