Seoul Taco’s Gogi Bowl
One of the best Korean-Mexican fusion restaurants in St. Louis recently opened a new location. On Jan. 22, Seoul Taco opened it’s seventh restaurant in The Grove.
Others are located in the Delmar Loop, Colombia and Chesterfield, Missouri, with three locations in Illinois, in addition to the original food truck.
“St. Louis is an important part of Seoul Taco’s brand DNA,” said chef and owner David Choi. “Our team is incredibly proud to be part of a community that has supported us since we began as a food truck, up to today’s opening of our first city location. We are excited to join The Grove neighborhood, which embodies the spirit and growth of the city.”
Seoul Taco’s Burritos and Steak Tacos
The inventive semi-casual restaurant’s menu features Korean-Mexican food items that are inspired by Choi’s childhood. Highlights incorporate his passion with delicious food.
Some fan favorites are the Bulgogi Steak Tacos with Korean salad mix, green onion, secret “Seoul Sauce,” crushed sesame seeds and lime; or Choi’s twist on bibimbap — the Spicy Pork Gogi Bowl with rice, fresh veggies, fried egg, carrots, green onion, sesame oil and spicy Gochujang pepper sauce. Guests can also enjoy the brand’s food mash-up, Gogi & Waffles, a bed of sweet potato waffle fries topped with guests’ choice of protein, house-made kimchi, sesame seeds, green onion, queso blanco and spicy Seoul sauce.
Street culture is widely incorporated into the décor of the new location. It features murals, art installations, and hip-hop music, similar to its other locations. Choi worked with different designers and artists, including Chicago muralist and chef, Won Kim, Raul “Rawooh” Ramirez and Alex Morales of Smartmouth designs to create the urban-inspired ambiance.
