Thousands of St. Louisans donated more than $3.8 million in support of 1,000-plus local nonprofits for Give STL Day.
The campaign kicked off at midnight on Wednesday, May 10, and after 34 hours of fundraising – which included 10 additional hours to commemorate Give STL Day’s 10th year in 2023 – the event raised the fourth-highest total in its history from 26,213 individual donations.
A total of 1,053 area nonprofits, ranging from animal shelters to food pantries to immigrant support centers to agencies for women and children, benefited from the drive. The top five finishers with regard to the total amount of donations are: ThriVe ($286,003), Foster and Adoptive Care Coalition ($231,996), Stray Rescue of St. Louis ($188,700), Humane Society of Missouri ($79,768) and LOGOS School ($52, 023). Since its introduction, Give STL Day has raised more than $30 million for local organizations. Give STL Day is powered by the St. Louis Community Foundation, whose donors have contributed approximately $690 million to nonprofits, initiatives and regional efforts throughout the area.
