Fry’er Fest, a one-night-only party for chicken tender fans, is back for its second year at Chicken Out in Kirkwood.
The event on Saturday, July 22, is from 3 to 7 p.m. in the parking lot of Chicken Out (10463 Manchester Road). Touted as a part-block party, part-competition, Fry’er Fest hosts chicken-tender challenges among local chefs, influencers and local foodies, as well as family friendly activities such live music, balloon art, a bounce house and giveaways.
The festival is free and open to the public. Guests will have the opportunity to sample a curated menu of complimentary “Flappetizers” from Chicken Out and sister establishments Sugarfire and Hi-Pointe Drive-In. There will also be smoothies and popsicles from Hello Juice, refreshments from 4 Hands Brewery, cocktails from 1220 Artisan Spirits and wine from The Wine and Cheese Place. In addition, Chicken Out’s full menu will be available for purchase inside the restaurant.
On tap for competitors this year are the hot-and-spicy challenge and an all-you-can-eat chicken tender challenge. If a chef or influencer wins the top prize, Chicken Out will donate $1,000 to a charity of their choice. There will also be six competitor slots available to the public via Chicken Out’s Instagram page. If the top prize goes to someone from the Instagram open call, that person will receive a year’s supply of Chicken Out tenders.
