Looking for ways to stretch out your summertime fun?

This weekend, Gateway Arch National Park is offering a full day of free special events for all ages in commemoration of Get Outdoors Month.

Take advantage of the Gateway Arch’s more than 90 acres of green space and 5-plus miles of walking and biking trails on Sunday, June 27, beginning with a morning ranger-led, 2-mile run around the park. Other activities throughout the day include old-school games such as Jacob’s Ladder and Game of Graces, family friendly yoga and vintage baseball under the arch.

The complete schedule of events is as follows:

8 a.m. RANGER-LED RUN AROUND THE PARK

Explore the park grounds with a 2-mile, ranger-led run! This guided run will begin at the arch’s west entrance and loop around the monument, utilizing the downtown urban park’s brand-new trails. Space is limited. Call (877) 982-1410 to reserve your spot.

9 a.m. to noon PIONEER GAMES
Head to the south leg of the Gateway Arch to take part in some old-school fun with classic toys and games such as Jacob’s Ladder and the Game of Graces. Participants can also make and take home their own button for giving these games a try.

10 a.m. YOGA FOR FAMILIES

Meet at the arch’s west entrance and bring your own mat and towel for a yoga session that’s fun for the entire family! Local yogi Nana Becoat will lead participants in a session that practices the key components of yoga such as breathwork, movement, relaxation and reflection. Participants will enjoy using games and discussion to experience the many benefits of yoga, and they’ll leave the session encouraged to apply their learning “off the mat” through journaling, drawing and other activities.

11 a.m. to 4 p.m. VINTAGE BASEBALL UNDER THE ARCH

Take me out to the ballgame! Catch the St. Louis Unions Vintage Baseball Club playing vintage baseball under the arch. Attendees will also learn about 19th-century baseball through interactive discussions about vintage uniforms, equipment and more.
