Rising stars such as St. Louis’ own Smino, Thundercat and Masego join musical icons Herbie Hancock, Grandmaster Flash, Taj Mahal and Cameo, as well as more than 50 other artists for Music at the Intersection this fall.
Now in its third year, the music festival on Sept. 9 and 10 will be presented on four stages across Grand Center with a diverse, genre-bending, decades-spanning lineup of up-and-coming local, regional and national artists.
This year’s showcase will also pay tribute to the 50th anniversary of hip-hop and its influence on contemporary music, art, fashion and culture. Spanning from 1970s South Bronx to current day, DJ and hip-hop legend Grandmaster Flash, funk band Cameo, Grammy Award-winning group Arrested Development and new-school hip-hop act Phony Ppl will take the stage with St. Louis-based artists and DJs such as The Mighty Pines, Paige Alyssa, Mai Lee, Earthworms and more.
Performances will be held throughout the Grand Center Arts District’s outdoor festival footprint in Midtown that stretches across Washington Avenue, just east of Grand Boulevard.
Ticket sales via Metrotix begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 14. Prices range from $79 for a day pass to $149 for all-weekend access. General admission and VIP packages are also available.
