The Missouri History Museum announced it will be closing for the remainder of January. The move follows an earlier announcement from the Saint Louis Art Museum that it will close to the public at 5 p.m. today, due to a rapid spread of COVID cases among Saint Louis Art Museum staff.

The announcement from the Missouri Historical Society (MHS) also includes closures for its two other locations: Soldiers Memorial Military Museum and the MHS Library & Research Center.

All on-site programming at MHS locations are cancelled until further notice, including several events planned for the History Museum’s eighth annual MLK Community Celebration. Instead, the MLK commemoration will be offered virtually via Zoom.

Officials at both the Missouri History Museum and Saint Louis Art Museum, both located in Forest Park, say they intend to reopen to the public on Tuesday, Feb. 1.
