Jon Hamm will return to his St. Louis hometown next month as the commencement speaker for Saint Louis University’s Class of 2024.
The Emmy Award-winning actor is set to deliver the commencement address at Chaifetz Arena on May 18, with the event also to be livestreamed on Saint Louis University’s website and its YouTube channel.
Most recently seen as a guest on “Saturday Night Live” alongside host Kristen Wiig on April 6, Hamm is best-known for his role as Don Draper on AMC’s acclaimed drama, “Mad Men.” Hamm earned numerous accolades for his performance as the high-powered ad executive, including the 2015 Emmy Award for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series and two Golden Globe awards in 2016 and 2008. Hamm also appears in Season 3 of “The Morning Show” on Apple TV and the current season of “Fargo” on Hulu.
Hamm is a graduate of John Burroughs School in Ladue, where he played football and baseball and was a member of the swim team. He received an English degree from the University of Missouri.
In addition to delivering the commencement address, Hamm will join three Saint Louis University alumni in receiving honorary degrees.
