One of the country’s top-ranked fine art fairs is returning to the streets of downtown Clayton next month.
The Saint Louis Art Fair, now in its 29th year, will be held Sept. 9 to 11, and is expected to attract thousands to downtown Clayton during the three-day event.
This year’s theme, “Love is in the Art,” intends to highlight the love and connection the fair receives from its supporters, according to Saint Louis Art Fair executive director Sarah Umlauf.
“Our goal this year is simply to continue our mission to inspire and engage our community with the foremost celebration of exceptional visual art, and, of course, spread the theme of love,” Umlauf said.
Sculptures, paintings, mixed media, jewelry and more by artists hailing from more than 33 states and three countries will be featured at the fair. Live entertainment from local musicians and other performers, chalk artists and a Creative Castle children’s area are also on tap.
Among the highlights are custom-led “Meet the Artists tours, live chalk art drawings, larger-than-life floral installations, food demonstrations by local chefs an more.
The fair is open Friday, Sept. 9, from 5 to 10 p.m.; Saturday, Sept. 10, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, Sept. 11, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visit the official Saint Louis Art Fair website for a complete schedule of events.
