A downtown Clayton hotel has launched a series of happy hour events to give back to local charities this summer.

Le Méridien St. Louis Clayton is presenting “Spritz to Success Sparkling Hour” beginning today, with 20% of proceeds from each evening donated to a nonprofit. In addition, two more “sparkling hours” are planned for Tuesday, Aug. 2, and Tuesday, Aug. 16.

The get-togethers, featuring a guest bartender to benefit their charity of choice, take place in Café La Vie, the hotel’s restaurant, from 4 to 6 p.m. Bartenders include: KSDK’s Michelle Li on July 12 (to benefit the Very Asian Foundation), Tower Grove Pride’s Michael Powers on Aug. 2 (to benefit Tower Grove Pride), and Christina Weaver of The Women’s Creative on Aug. 16 (to benefit STL ArtWorks),

Spritz to Success takes place during Café la Vie’s Sparkling Hour, the restaurant’s take on the traditional happy hour following the workday. Signature seasonal cocktails are on the menu, including the Rose Collins, made with Roku gin, cocchi rosa vermouth, lemon juice and simple syrup; the Cognac Petillante featuring Camus VS, elderflower liqueur and prosecco; and zero-proof options like the Sparkling Cherry Yuzu (Yuzu, luxardo syrup, club soda and lime juice) and Citrus Epice (Demerara simple syrup, lemon juice and Fever Tree orange spiced ginger ale).

The café’s “Petit Plates” offer destination-inspired bites combining European classics with local and seasonal ingredients, such as the Baetje Farms Goat Cheese Cornet with pepper jelly and chives; Fennel Sausage Croquettes with provel fondue, Missouri rice and piperade; and Tuna Nicoise Tartine with Spanish bonito tuna, shaved radish, hard cooked eggs, green olives and served with lemon aioli.

No reservations are required; more information is available on Café la Vie’s website.
