Mission Taco Joint Introduces New Bag of Chips

Would you like some chips with that salsa? St. Louis-based Mission Taco Joint has introduced a new tortilla chip line called MTJ Chips.

The local chain known for its tacos, burritos, tortas and margaritas is now making chips at its tortilleria in Kirkwood – the same location where Mission Taco’s in-house corn tortillas and chips are made for its restaurants.

The MTJ Chips are gluten-free and made from scratch with local, stone-ground corn and sea salt. The raw corn, sourced from Farmersville, Illinois, is cooked in a process known as nixtamalization and then ground in volcanic stones to make the masa. The masa is then pressed into thinner tortillas, specifically designed for tortilla chips. The tortillas are then cut and fried fresh into chips.

MTJ Chips in 11-ounce bags are available at all Straub’s Markets locations and at The Annex in Webster Groves.
