Tuesday, May 16, marks National Barbecue Day and some area eateries, including Sugarfire Smokehouse, are running specials with ways to give back to the community.

Sugarfire has announced a giveback special and customer appreciation giveaway for National Barbecue Day. Beginning May 16 and through the end of the month, three Sugarfire locations, including Olivette, St. Charles and downtown St. Louis, will offer Tri-Tip, thinly sliced sirloin seared to perfection, on special. The Tri-Tip will be available on a combo platter, on sandwich, or as an addition to any salad.

In addition, the locations will kick off National Barbeque Day by donating 100% of proceeds from Tri-Tip sales to Operation BBQ Relief, a nonprofit that delivers the healing power of barbecue in times of need, feeding first responders and communities affected by natural disasters, along with year-round efforts to fight hunger across the United States. Sugarfire will also give away free 6-ounce rib rubs and $15 gift certificates to the first 50 guests to purchase any Tri-Tip item on May 16.

For the remainder of May, the three Sugarfire locations will continue to donate a percentage of daily Tri-Tip special sales to Operation BBQ Relief. Participating stores are located in Olivette (9200 Olive Blvd.), Downtown St. Louis (605 Washington Ave. inside the National Blues Museum), and St. Charles (3150 Elm Point Industrial Drive).
