Whether you are a Mom or a mother figure – or simply know someone who is – you deserve a little lovin’ from the oven on Mother’s Day! And we found some options we think you’ll really sink your teeth into, this weekend and beyond!
Let’s begin with Commonwealth, the restaurant inside Angad Arts Hotel. This year, Commonwealth is offering a special Mother’s Day breakfast on Sunday, May 8, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The a la carte menu, with prices ranging from $15 to $21, features versions of Eggs Benedict (smoked salmon, BBQ brisket and classic Canadian bacon), along with lighter options like Avocado Toast (toasted sourdough bread topped with avocado mousse, soft tomato and a poached egg). You are also able to choose from three prosecco mimosa flavors served by the glass ($9) or bottle ($30) or two different types of Bloody Mary ($13). Reservations are required and can be made through OpenTable.
Eckert’s Country Restaurant in Belleville, Illinois, is celebrating Mother’s Day with brunch at the Country Restaurant on Sunday, May 8, from 8 a.m. to noon. Pretty sure Mom will love some of Eckert’s fan favorites like Asparagus & Feta Frittata, Chicken ‘n Waffles, Country Fried Steak & Eggs, Avocado Toast, Buttermilk Pancakes and more. Additionally, cocktails such as The Perfect Bloody Mary, Strawberry Sangria, The Relax-Her, The Hawaiian Mimosa and The Mom-Osa will be available. Make reservations online here.
How about whisking Mom off to a European courtyard, close to home? Edera Italian Eatery in the Central West End, is offering brunch on Mother’s Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. How does Red Burrata featuring sausage, tomato sauce, burrata, eggs, herbs and focaccia sound? Or Polenta Eggs made with fried herb polenta, prosciutto, tomato, pesto hollandaise and poached eggs? Frittatas, featuring broccolini, roasted garlic, tomato and goat cheese, as well as a Pancetta Hash with roasted potatoes, asparagus, pickled shallot, eggs and calabrian pesto are practically guaranteed to razzle dazzle. Best of all, your mom will receive a fresh flower. Feel free to make a reservation on Edera’s website.
Russell’s on Macklind also has a Mother’s Day brunch, including menu items such as those massive Cinnamon Rolls ($8), Grilled French Toast ($11), made with vanilla and cinnamon custard soaked country butter-top bread, lemon curd, whipped cream and fresh berries, and more. Guests can make reservations for brunch on OpenTable.
