Paris Fashion Weeks Forced to Close Due to Coronavirus Dangers

Two of the largest events in the fashion world, Paris Men’s Fashion Week and Haute Couture Week are canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The events were scheduled to take place from late June through early July. Organizers are continuing to work on safe alternatives.

“In light of the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic worldwide, strong decisions are required to ensure the safety and health of (fashion) houses, their employees and everyone working in our industry,” the Federation de la Haute Couture et de la Mode released in a statement.

It is not the only French business suffering due to the pandemic. LVMH is currently producing hand sanitizer for hospitals at three of its factories in France.
