The contribution will go toward the Emergency Assistance Fund, World Health Organization COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, Pink Pony fund, and a Common Thread. It will also help produce 25,000 medical gowns and 250,000 masks.

“At the heart of our company, there has always been a spirit of togetherness that inspires our creativity, our confidence and most importantly, our support for one another,” Lauren said.

“In the past weeks and months, that spirit has never wavered. We believe that no matter who you are or where you are from, we are all connected. That is why we are taking significant action to help our teams and communities through this crisis,” Lauren added.

Other celebrities have donated toward the cause as well. Donatella Versace and her daughter, Allegra Versace Beck, donated 200,000 euros to the intensive care department of the San Raffaele hospital in Italy. Rihanna announced that her Clara Lionel Foundation donated $5 million dollars toward COVID-19 rapid response efforts. More recently, Kylie Jenner donated $1 million to buy protective gear for health care professionals in Los Angeles.

“I have never felt more blessed to be a doctor, as helping our brave ER and ICU workers feels just as gratifying as helping my own patients. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you Kylie Jenner. You are my hero. This generous donation will help save many precious lives. Our world is a better place with you in it. I love you so much.” said Dr. Thais Alaibadi, who delivered Jenner’s daughter, Stormi.
