Safe Connections ‘Together!’ Event Goes Virtual

Though we would rather be at The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis, enjoying the Safe Connections annual Together! brunch, in person, at the Gazelle table, as we did last year, Safe Connections has arranged the next best thing to adapt to the pandemic climate.

Stronger TOGETHER! is Safe Connections’ motto, and it’s sad that the “Together! Engaging Women|Empowering Girls” event cannot take place, the online version of the event offers new and exciting ways to support the callers, clients and children that Safe Connections is continuing to serve through its crisis helpline, therapy and prevention education programs.

Here’s how you can still help:

  • Make a secure, online donation on the Safe Connections’ website by clicking here. (The CARES Act creates a new opportunity for all taxpayers – even those who do not itemize – for 2020 charitable contributions up to $300.)
  • You can participate in the online auction, beginning at noon, on Monday, April 20,  through noon, Saturday, April 25.
  • Purchase tickets for “Pick-A-Trip” and/or “Pick-From-3” drawings by clicking here or online at safeconnections.org/events. Pick-A-Trip includes round-trip tickets for two on Southwest Airlines for a seven-night resort condo vacation for one to four guests (or six, depending on location chosen) to Lake Tahoe, Nevada, Palm Springs, California, or Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Raffle tickets are $100 each. “Pick-From-3” includes three prizes from which three winners will select a prize in the order their name is pulled. Raffle tickets are $10 each. The three prizes are: Tiffany & Co. Olive Leaf hoop earrings and bracelet, The Fabulous Fox Theatre Tour Passes (10); and a Kate Spade Margareta Wilson Road Tote in French Stripe. Join Safe Connections on Facebook Live at noon, Saturday, April 25, for the drawings for “Pick-A-Trip” and “Pick-From-3.”

Safe Connections has supported survivors of domestic and sexual violence for over 40 years, and continues to be a resource during the COVID-19 pandemic. Although the physical office is closed to protect staff and clients, and to be instrumental in reducing the spread of the virus, Safe Connections’ 24-hour crisis helpline at (314) 531-2003 never closes.
