Westport Plaza’s newest restaurant opens today.
Soda Fountain Express, the second location of the Soda Fountain, known for its over-the-top milkshakes, burgers, sandwiches and more, opens today at 11 a.m. at Westport Plaza in Maryland Heights.
Soda Fountain Express has a similar menu and ‘50s-style-diner vibe as the original location at St. Louis Union Station.
Diner favorites such as burgers, hotdogs, a variety of sandwiches, such as chicken, BLTs and grilled cheese, are on the menu, as well as chili, fries and onion rings.
Fountain classics like shakes, floats and sodas are available, and, of course, the eatery’s signature “Freak Shakes,” which are larger than traditional milkshakes and outrageously concocted, are a highlight.
Freak Shake flavors offered at Soda Fountain Express include: Cotton Candy (Creamsicle shake topped with cotton candy, Nerds, Sweetart roll, Super Blow Pop, whipped cream and cherry), A Very Happy Un-Birthday (birthday cake shake topped with a funfetti cupcake, whipped cream, rainbow sprinkles, snickerdoodle cookie, cherry and rainbow pop) and Everything But (chocolate shake topped with chocolate-covered pretzel, potato chips, chocolate-dipped pretzel rod, Kitchen Sink brownie, caramel sauce, peanut butter cup and whipped cream).
Soda Fountain Express, located at 147 West Port Plaza Drive, will be open beginning today, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Mondays through Saturdays, and until 6 p.m. on Sundays.
