A new boutique featuring women-owned local brands is set to open next month at City Foundry STL

To start, Procure by The Women’s Creative, to be located across from the Food Hall, will carry more than 20 brands as part of an “intentionally curated” selection of skincare, beauty, lifestyle, clothing, accessories and home goods products. An online store is also planned for later this spring.

The retail concept was inspired by Procure Marketplace, a Women’s Creative vendor market held at City Foundry in 2021. More than 400 unique, women-owned brands have been featured at the market since it was launched in 2017.

“We are taking what we have learned from our experience curating and leading Procure Marketplace, and needs shared by our vendor partners to develop an opportunity for them to grow their businesses, build brand awareness and collaborate to achieve their goals,” said Christina Weaver, a co-founder of The Women’s Creative and Procure. “We believe there is power in the why. Understanding why these products exist and who is creating them is foundational to the buying experience. We are passionate about sharing the brands’ stories and amplifying the inspirational women behind them.”

Shop director Tessa Corno adds Procure is approaching retail as a service both for the consumer and its brand partners.

“Our goal is to solve problems we see in the marketplace. From a consumer perspective, we know women want to support women-owned brands and businesses, but they do not have the time, energy and space to drive around to multiple locations or spend hours researching online to find these brands,” Corno said. “We are offering them a curated, consolidated, and convenient destination to find these brands. For the women-owned, local brands, we are providing a unique platform to sell their products, the opportunity for collaboration, and the ability to leverage adjacent brands and their communities. But more than that, we are deeply focused on the infrastructure and support emerging brands need on an individualized basis to build their knowledge and bridge gaps in access to mentors and community leaders.”

The boutique, which will be open Wednesday through Sunday beginning in mid-February, will also have a lounge where people can gather, meet and work.
