Bergstrom, who will become The Rep’s eighth artistic director in its 58-year history, is a theatre veteran. Among her most recent productions are two acclaimed Rep shows: last December’s “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” and 2022’s “The 39 Steps.” Her experience also includes directing LORT regional theaters across the country such as Marin Theatre Company, Alabama Shakespeare Festival and Trinity Repertory Company. In addition, she served as founder and producing artistic director of “On The Verge,” a festival premiering female and LGBTQ+ writers in Santa Barbara, California.

The Rep’s upcoming 2024-2025 season kicks off in September with “Dial M for Murder,” under the supervision of Rep managing director Danny Williams and the current artistic team. For her part, Bergstrom will lead the selection of this season’s Steve Woolf Studio Series and begin work on the 2025-2026 season and beyond.
