The stage is being set for the 11th annual St. Louis Theater Circle Awards to honor outstanding work in local professional theatre in the past year.
The awards ceremony at Loretto-Hilton Center takes place Monday, March 25, and features nominees in 33 categories vying for honors in comedies, dramas, musicals and operas. Approximately 100 productions have been considered for nominations for this year’s event.
The Muny leads the way with 26 nominations, followed by The New Jewish Theatre, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis (The Rep) and Stages St. Louis, who each garnered at least 19 nominations.
“Clue,” at Stages St. Louis and The New Jewish Theatre’s production of “Into the Woods” each garnered 11 nominations to lead all shows in nominations. (See below for a full list of nominations.)
Tickets ($23 each) are available in advance via The Rep’s website, as well as at the door the evening of the event. The event includes a one-hour “Happy Hour” (with snacks and beverages available for purchase) prior to the ceremony, which begins at 7:30 p.m.
