One of the Missouri History Museum’s most popular events, Twilight Tuesdays, is now Twilight Thursdays.
Beginning in September, the free outdoor concert series, held on the grounds of the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park, will make a switch to Thursday evenings.
This fall’s lineup salutes musical legends with St. Louis roots, including tributes to new Rock & Rock Hall-of-Famer Tina Turner, the Isley Brothers, The Temptations’ Dennis Edwards and Chuck Berry.
Concerts are from 6 to 8 p.m., and will take place at the Missouri History Museum Thursday nights on Sept. 9, 16, 23 and 30.
The concert lineup is as follows:
Sept. 9 Isley Brothers Tribute
Raise a glass to celebrate more than 60 years of music by the Isley Brothers, featuring music director Terry Coleman, lead vocalist Dana Austin and guitarist Brian White.
Sept. 16 Dennis Edwards and The Temptations Tribute
Honor the sound of St. Louis’s own Dennis Edwards with the harmonic vocals of Master’s Touch, featuring lead vocalist Marvin Rice.
Sept. 23 The Chuck Berry Band
Give a shoutout to the Father of Rock ‘n’ Roll! The Chuck Berry Band takes the stage, featuring Charles Berry III on guitar.
Sept. 30 Tina Turner Tribute
Even as a young singer who got her start in St. Louis, Tina Turner exuded the voice and swag of a superstar. Vocal artist Seviin Li performs the music of Ike and Tina Turner.
In addition, the museum will stay open until 8 p.m on concert nights to allow guests to view the ongoing exhibit, “Beyond the Ballot: St. Louis and Suffrage” (through June 5, 2022) and the soon-to-open “St. Louis Sound” (Aug. 28 to Jan. 22, 2023).
