The Missouri History Museum’s popular Twilight Tuesdays concert series begins tonight.
Normally held outdoors on the museum’s lawn, the series is being presented virtually this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The theme for the series is music of the Mighty Mississippi, featuring music made famous in cities along the Mississippi River, including St. Louis, Memphis and New Orleans.
The free virtual concerts can be enjoyed by the public from the comfort of their home or backyard. The performances will be streamed live beginning at 6 p.m. every Tuesday night during the month of September via the Missouri History Museum’s Facebook page and on Zoom.
The concert lineup is as follows:
Sept. 8 | FatPocket

Sept. 15 | Jeremiah Allen and Friends
Hear music inspired by the Mississippi River as it rolls past St. Louis, including the sounds of Fontella Bass, Donny Hathaway, David Peaston, Luther Ingram, Oliver Sain, Miles Davis and more.
Sept. 22 | Roland Johnson and the Stax Tribute Band
The music that came out of Memphis reflected a generation that had been forever changed by the civil unrest of the late 1960s and 1970s. Hear the rhythms of Otis Redding, Isaac Hayes, the Staple Singers, Rufus Thomas, the Bar-Kays, Albert King, Johnnie Taylor and more.
Sept. 29 | Dirty Muggs Hear the sounds of the Twin Cities, Minneapolis and St. Paul, including the music of His Royal Badness Prince, Morris Day and the Time, Shelia E., Da Krash and more.
