Valentine’s Day Options for Dining Out or Staying In

Whether you love the grandeur of a Valentine’s night out or prefer the warmth and comfort of snuggling next to your honey at home, there are many ways to indulge in a special meal made for two – or not. If you’re happily single, we have a deal for you, too!

Cinder House at the Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis

Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis will have a Valentine’s Day prix-fixe three-course dinner at Cinder House, with Chef Peter Slay creating a few flavorful offerings with some heat and spice. Along with an amuse course of Grilled Beach Cheese (tamarind honey and crunchy quinoa), guests can choose from three options for the appetizer and main course from the following menu:

First Course

  • Black Truffle Tapioca Cheese Tots with XO hot sauce
  • Winter Citrus Salad with hearts of palm, Fresno chili, avocado, lobster knuckle and crab spiced puffed rice
  • Celery Root Veloute with chestnut, truffle and black trumpet mushroom

Second Course

  • Wood Fired Rohan Duck Duo with confit empanada, vatapa, bok choy and spicy peanuts
  • Parihuela, Peruvian seafood stew with saffron bomba rice and sofrito
  • Red Wine Braised Oxtail with yucca gnocchi, mirepoix, sweet pepper and aji panka

Dessert

  • Spicy Chocolate Mousse

Each dinner is $90 per person, and reservations are available on Open Table.

And don’t forget about the Four Seasons’ very own “Little White Chapel,” a pop-up Vegas-style venue for couples to be wed, renew vows or hold commitment ceremonies. Another indulgent prix-fixe option can be found at Café la Vie at Le Méridien St. Louis Clayton hotel. For one night only, on Saturday, Feb. 11, a six-course meal for two ($140) will feature a Smoked Salmon Crepe Napoleon and Savory Bread Pudding for starters, followed by a main course of Lobster Bucatini in a saffron chardonnay cream sauce, and Rack of Lamb served with fondant potato, creamed spinach and a cherry demi. For dessert, there’s Bombe de Chocolate, made with Belgian chocolate and an Orange Blossom Sabayon with strawberry caviar. Each course also includes a wine pairing.

Also at Café la Vie, the Savour the Sparkle Chocolate & Sparkling Wine Tasting is available for dinner guests through April 30. Each tasting includes three hand-selected chocolates from Clayton’s Honeymoon Chocolates paired with a pour of a sparkling wine. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the Farmers Feast experience at Vicia is back, with an added extended menu available for eaters with no dietary restrictions. Scheduled dates are Feb. 10 and 11. On Valentine’s Day, a one-night-only six-course tasting will feature decadent ingredients and fine wines perfectly paired for two. Limited seatings are available for parties of two to six people. For something more casual, grab your sweetheart and head to Lion’s Choice for the Two for $14 Meal Deal, available only on Feb. 14. The specially priced meal includes two original roast beef sandwiches, two orders of fries, two drinks and two cookie custard sandwiches. Feel like a cozy night at home? Chicken Scratch at City Foundry STL has the perfect takeaway to share with your Valentine. The Cluckbucket (usually priced at $36) will be 15% off for Valentine’s Day.
