Hailed as the most popular big band of all time, the Glenn Miller Orchestra is making its return to St. Louis for a one-night-only concert this summer at The Sheldon.
The band, known for its iconic hits from the swing era, including “In the Mood,” “A String of Pearls,” “Tuxedo Junction,” “Chattanooga Choo Choo” and “Moonlight Serenade,” has been performing since 1956. Named after bandleader Glenn Miller, who was the best-selling recording artist in the late ‘30s and ‘40s, the 18-member orchestra is on a national tour that will stop in St. Louis on Sunday, June 5.
The orchestra, its lead singers and vocal group will perform its catalog of greatest hits just as they would have more than 80 years ago when Miller stood in front of his band, transporting audiences back to a time when jazz, swing and big-band music topped the charts.
Tickets begin at $45, and will be open for presale on Wednesday, Feb. 16. General ticket sales begin Friday, Feb. 18. Tickets will be available via Metrotix, by phone (314) 533-9900 or at The Sheldon box office.
