DATE: September 29, 2018
CEREMONY & RECEPTION: Three Barn Farm
ABOUT THE COUPLE: He is in apartment management. She is a fifth-grade teacher. The couple lives in St. Peters, Missouri.
HOW DID YOU MEET?
We met through our mutual friends, Brett and Irene.
WHAT INITIALLY ATTRACTED YOU TO EACH OTHER?
Nicole: Andrew was so kind and caring (and still is) when I met him, and he was so easy to talk to.
Andrew: Her smile.
HOW DID HE PROPOSE?
Every year since we’ve been dating, we go ice skating. Andrew always tightens my skates, and so it was not unusual that he was on one knee. However, he definitely surprised me when he popped the question.
WHAT WAS UNIQUE ABOUT YOUR WEDDING?
I think the most unique thing about our wedding day was the atmosphere. It was stress-free and relaxing. Also, our dog, Dakota, was the ring-bearer and walked with the flower girl down the aisle.
FAVORITE MOMENT ON YOUR WEDDING DAY?
Our favorite moment of our wedding day was right after our ceremony. We were lucky enough to have 15 minutes to sit by the altar and take everything in. Mark and Carleen (the owners of the venue) brought down beers for us, and we sat an enjoyed them together.
WHAT DO YOU CHERISH MOST ABOUT YOUR RELATIONSHIP?
I think the thing we cherish most about our relationship is our ability to take turns being the “stronger” one. We have been through many ups and downs, but we always know we can lean on each other and help each other through the tough times.
WHEN DID YOU KNOW THIS PERSON WAS THE ONE?
Nicole: For me, it was our first Christmas. We decorated our tree together, and spending that quality time with Andrew made me realize how safe and at home he made me feel.
Andrew: It was our first date.
